If you run a support group for parents of selectively mute children - or are starting one - and would like to be listed here, please contact us with the details. We are also happy to list other services which assist selectively mute children, as well as youngsters with associated anxiety disorders, and their families.

The Selectively Silent Child:
A support group meeting on the last Tuesday of each month 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Ontario.

London, Ontario and surrounding area support group run by parents for parents with children with diagnosed/undiagnosed SM, meeting once a month 7:00pm to 9:00pm at UWO Social Science Centre, Room 4103.

Ottawa Selective Mutism Support Group:
A relatively new group and with a current membership of 10 families meeting intermittently and maintaining email support with each other.

-- Friday evening 6:30pm to 7:30pm bi-weekly psychotherapeutic/social skills group for selectively mute children 6 to 8 years old at the office of Marian Moldan, RCSW, which is at Miller Place, New York.
-- Saturday morning group for 7 - 8 year olds selectively mute children 10 - 11 am (bi-weekly).
-- Mommy and Me group for selectively mute toddlers and preschoolers (2.5 to 3.5 year olds).
Enrollment is limited to keep group small. Your child may be eligible for this group through Suffolk County Early Intervention or through your School District - call Marian for details.
